I am a child of the Lord

John 17:9–10

I pray for them. Not for the world, but for those you have entrusted to me. They are Yours. All that is Mine is Yours. And what is Yours is Mine. In them is reflected who I am.

 

Yes, Lord, that's what I'm longing for. May I become more like You, Lord Jesus, so that Your name will be honored throughout my life. That my life is a reflection of who You are. That people will begin to see the power and majesty of the Father throughout my life. Because of the things I say or don't say. Because of what I do or don't do. Because of what I think or don't think. I realize that it is important what I feed myself on, because what I feed myself on is what I always get hungry for. If those are the things of the world, then my speech, actions, and thoughts are hungry for the things of the world. If it is You, then my speech, actions and thoughts will get hungry for You and I will discover more how rich, great and powerful You are. Everything that is the Father's is Yours and whatever is Yours is the Father's. And because You dwell in me, Holy Spirit, that immeasurable wealth of the Son and the Father is also in me. I want to live from that richness, Lord. Not the riches this world has to offer. 

Thank You for praying for me. I, too, have been entrusted to your good care and therefore surrender to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

John 17:11–12

I leave the world and come to You, but they still remain in the world. Holy Father, protect them in your name, the name you have also given to me. so that they can be one like Us. As long as I was with them, I protected them in your name that you gave me. I didn't let any of them go to waste, except the one that was supposed to be lost. Thus what was written in the Books became a reality. 

 

I live in this world, Lord. A world where the powers of darkness roar and rave cause death and destruction and mainly target the people who follow You. They hate You, Lord Jesus, because You have conquered them. In all circumstances in which I live, I am therefore also victorious!

 

Romans 8:37

But under all these circumstances, thanks to Him who loves us so much, we have victory!

 

Your name is a name of power that contains everything we need to go through life protected. Your name is for and in me:

• Yhwh/Yahweh/Jehovah: God, the er before me is.
• Yahweh-yireh: The Lord who provides
• Yahweh-Rapha: De Heer die geneest.
• Yahweh-Nicciy: De Heer mijn banier.
• Yahweh-Qadash: The Lord Who Sanctifies
• Yahweh-Shalowm: The Lord is peace.
• Yahweh-Elohiym: The Lord is the God.
• Yehovah-Tsidqenuw: The Lord my righteousness.
• Yehovah-Rohi: The Lord my Shepherd.
• Yehovah-Shammah: De Heer the er is.
• Yehovah-Tsaba: The Lord of hosts.
• The Elyown: From Allerhoogste.
• El Ro'iy: The God of sight.
• El-Olam: The Eternal God.
• El-Gibbor: The Mighty God.

I proclaim this about my life and the lives of all your children. In your name, we have the protection needed to live in this world and stay there for as long as you see fit.

Your name also binds us to each other, Father in Heaven. You are our rallying point, our banner, Yahweh-Nicciy. We gather around you, ready for the battle to be fought. I confess that we have damaged that unity by looking too much to each other instead of to You. Take my attitude, my motives, my words and my actions Lord. I put all my desires under the guidance of You, Holy Spirit, so that You teach me again and again to look at Jesus and to see others from His eyes. Eyes full of mercy for the people around me. Thank You for the unity that is in You.

I find the last part of verse 11 difficult, Lord. I know that You do not want anyone to perish, but that all men should be converted. You say so Yourself in your Word:

 

2 Petrus 3:9b (Boek)

He does not want anyone to perish, but he wants all people to be converted.

 

You are talking here about Judas having to perish, because what was in the Books had to become a reality. I can put a whole theology on it to explain that in contrast to what You say in 2 Peter 3:9, but it's still difficult. That is why I keep these words in my heart. When I'm with You, it's all going to be clear to me, and if that's necessary now, then I thank You, Holy Spirit, for making it clear. 

For now, I thank you that you will not let me perish, because I have turned to you, believe in you, want to follow you and the Holy Spirit is in me, who convinces me again and again that I am a child of God.

 

Romans 8:16

For in our deepest being, God's Spirit convinces us that we are children of God.

 

And because I am a child of the Lord:

• Am I entrusted to Jesus
• I reflect Him.
• He prays for me too.
• He protects me.
• I am one with Him.
• I bear his name.
